Teacher Subject Specialism Training: Physics
The best CPD I’ve undertaken in 13 years of teaching! The host teachers were full of fantastic tips, ideas and practical suggestions that I’ll take back to the classroom.
Following the fantastic response to our Physics Hub in 2017-18, we’re delighted to offer further free, custom-designed training for science teachers who want to specialise in teaching physics.
Great sessions with more practical approaches to support learning and memory of concepts.
What will I study?
Before you begin your teacher subject specialism training in physics, we’ll carry out a skills audit so that we can tailor the programme to your needs.
During the two-day Physics Hub, you’ll explore the fundamental physics concepts and knowledge needed for the KS3 to KS5 curricula, along with learning great practical skills and strategies for teaching them effectively.
You’ll be taught by physics teachers who collaborate with partners at the Institute of Physics. These subject experts are experienced classroom practitioners who understand the challenges of the new physics curriculum and can are therefore uniquely placed to give you the very best in evidence-based guidance.
In addition to the Physics Hub, you’ll also have the opportunity to spend up to three full days or six half-days observing physics lessons in an outstanding school. You’ll be mentored throughout your school immersion experience by a Lead Practitioner / SLE.
You’ll also have access to a library of 200 topic-based experiments with detailed notes for teachers, technicians and learners – PLUS we also give you free access to excellent, innovative teaching resources created by the Trinity Science team.
Programme information and dates
As a result of previous delegate feedback and an increase in demand, we will be offering two Physics Hub programs this year.
16th June 2020
