About Trinity Teaching School Alliance

What is the Trinity Teaching School Alliance (TTSA)?

A Teaching School Alliance is a collaborative group of partners (which may include schools from any phase or sector, universities and other educational bodies) who work together to deliver teacher training programmes. Each alliance is led by one or more teaching schools.

The TTSA’s designated teaching school is Trinity Academy, Halifax, acknowledged by Ofsted as an outstanding provider.

The alliance of 41 partner primary and secondary schools across West Yorkshire collaborates to provide exceptional teacher training for those candidates who demonstrate a genuine passion and aptitude for teaching and working with young people.

What teacher training programmes does the TTSA offer?

Initial Teacher Training (ITT)

One of the region’s largest School Direct providers, we offer excellent initial teacher training for candidates with the potential to be outstanding. Over 98% of our trainees are deemed to be good or better, and 75% of our host schools recruit their trainees at the end of their placements – a superb outcome for everyone!

School to School Support (StSS)

The TTSA has a task force of leaders, teachers and school practitioners – all qualified experts in their own fields – ready to support any school that needs a helping hand with teaching, learning and outcomes.

Continuing Professional & Leadership Development (CPLD)

High quality, relevant and effective CPLD is vital to help schools and practitioners to be the best they can be and to secure the most valuable educational experience and outcomes for every learner. Our wide-ranging and cost-effective CPLD (including Teacher Subject Specialism Training) is available to individual practitioners as well as schools.
