Developing science subject knowledge at KS2

A solid foundation in teacher knowledge is vital in ensuring that children achieve in this subject. This intensive one day course builds and deepens teachers’ knowledge of scientific concepts so that they can deliver high-quality lessons that enable pupils to grasp concepts quickly and put them into practice through methods, processes and uses of science. The course will explore the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics, and develop and deepen understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science. The day ensures that teachers are equipped with the knowledge to teach the uses and implications of science, and support pupils to devise investigations, draw conclusions and use evidence to justify ideas and explain findings.
